Job Summary

As a Lead Software Engineer at UKG, you will work closely with engineering and product teams to develop scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions. You will lead DevOps initiatives, improve CI/CD pipelines, enhance observability, and support enterprise-grade software deployments across modern cloud platforms.

The role involves working across the complete software development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to deployment and ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities

DevOps Engineering

  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and similar tools.
  • Automate software build, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Improve deployment reliability and developer productivity.

Cloud Infrastructure

  • Develop and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft Azure.
  • Ensure scalable, secure, and highly available cloud environments.

Containerization & Kubernetes

  • Build and deploy containerized applications using Docker.
  • Manage Kubernetes clusters and cloud-native deployments.

Security & Access Management

  • Implement secure authentication and authorization practices.
  • Manage IAM policies, secrets management, and workload identity federation.

Automation

  • Create automation solutions using Python and Ansible.
  • Streamline infrastructure provisioning and operational workflows.

Monitoring & Observability

  • Build monitoring and alerting systems using Grafana and Prometheus.
  • Improve visibility into application and infrastructure performance.

Technical Leadership

  • Lead technical discussions and architecture reviews.
  • Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.
  • Review code and ensure high-quality software delivery.

Troubleshooting & Operations

  • Investigate production issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Implement preventive measures to improve system reliability.
